Install on any website
Add Handychat to any website with one script line. Includes steps for WooCommerce, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow and custom sites.
Handychat works on any website, not only Shopify. You paste one script line on your pages and the chat bubble appears.
Before you start
- A Handychat account. Sign up at app.handychat.ai/sign-up with your email and a password, or with Google. You confirm your email address before you continue.
- Access to edit your site's HTML, theme or code-injection settings.
Set up your agent and get your script
Add your website
After you sign up, Handychat asks you to Add your first AI agent. Enter your website address in the Website field (the https:// is already filled in) and click Continue. Handychat reads your public pages (products, shipping, returns, FAQs) to teach your agent. It needs no login and no access to your code.
Start your free trial
Pick a plan. Add a card at checkout; you are not charged until the 7-day free trial ends. Cancel any time. See Plans and billing.
Copy your install script
Open Install in the dashboard. Under Add the widget to your website, click Copy next to your script. It looks like this:

Paste it on every page
Paste the script on every page where the chat should appear, just before the closing </body> tag. Pick your platform below.
Check it works
Reload your site. The chat bubble should appear. On the Install page the card changes from Waiting for your widget to Widget detected and the badge shows Installed. The page checks every 5 seconds while it is open.
Platform steps
- Open your site's HTML template or layout file.
- Paste the script just before the closing
</body>tag. - Save and publish. Reload your site and the chat bubble appears.
- Install a header and footer plugin such as WPCode (Insert Headers and Footers).
- Open it and paste the script into the Footer section.
- Save. The widget loads on every page, including your WooCommerce shop.
- In your Wix dashboard go to Settings, then Custom Code.
- Click Add Custom Code, paste the script, and choose Body - end.
- Apply it to All pages and save.
- Go to Settings, Advanced, Code Injection.
- Paste the script into the Footer box.
- Save. Code injection needs a Business plan or higher on Squarespace.
- Open Site settings, then Custom code.
- Paste the script into Footer code (before the
</body>tag). - Save and publish your site.
Optional script settings
You can tune the chat from the script tag itself. Add any of these attributes:

Anything you set on the script wins over the Widget page in the dashboard. If you leave an attribute off, the dashboard value is used. See Web chat and design editor.
Prove you own the website
Web accounts get a Website ownership card on the Install page. Add either the DNS TXT record on your domain or the meta tag in the <head> of your homepage, then click Check now. Once verified, no one else can register an agent for your domain. The chat itself does not need this to run.
Good to know
The bubble only shows when the agent is Live
The widget removes itself if your agent is paused. Check the Live switch on the Agents page. For web accounts, replies also need an active trial or plan.
- Content Security Policy. If your site sets one, allow
https://app.handychat.aifor scripts, styles and connections. - Product cards. Add your product feed under Knowledge so the chat can show products. See Knowledge base.
- Selling on Shopify too? On Install, Connect your Shopify store unlocks product cards, add to cart and order tracking in the chat. Your plan and billing stay the same.
- Orders and revenue. To count orders from your site in your revenue numbers, add Purchase tracking.
- More on-site features. Add the AI search bar and Product page FAQs with the same script.
